1 Month SIM Only Contracts
A 1 Month/30 Days SIM only plan is a ‘rolling’ plan, which lasts for a month. You get a set amount of minutes, texts and (where applicable) data as you would with a standard Pay Monthly mobile phone contract.
However the difference is with a 1 Month/30 Day deal, you’re free to leave the contract whenever. Normally you’re required to give the network 30 days notice if you want to quit, otherwise the same amount will be debited from your account and the contract will ‘roll on’ for another month. This is why 1 Month SIM only plans are sometimes both called 30 Day plans or ‘rolling’ contracts.
There is no obligation to extend the contract beyond a month, it can last for as long as you want it to. 1 Month SIM only plans are popular with Pay As You Go owners who’ve had their phone for a while and want to benefit from the better value for money that a monthly contract brings, but don’t want to be tied into a lengthy deal.
Likewise if you’re ‘between phones’ and aren’t sure which phone to go for next, a 1 Month SIM only deal is a good idea. You could carry on using your ol phne for however long (3 months, 5 months, 9 months) until the phone you really want becomes available or drops in price.
